Scientific article on the kitebuggy OBE

Just noticed this article. Have not read it yet but it could be interesting and helpful for someone that kite buggies. I have had 1 OBE so far but did not get hurt.

This is why we tend to shy away from folks doing "research" We've had way to many people join only to conduct surveys and ask about injuries. They rarely point to skill level flying the kite and risk taking by novices into account.

Someone will undoubtedly take an article like this to use and call the sport dangerous and get it banned from the beach/park etc. Everyone here stresses safety. But that is totally discounted in the research.

Here's a prime example from 2014.

HQ Crossfire II 2.0, 3.0 & 4.0
HQ Toxic 8.0
Flexifoil Blurr 3.5
Flexifoil Blade 8.5

Before you ask, What kite Should I buy?

Alright, own up. Who ratted us out? :P

The answer rate for this study was influenced by participant concerns that focusing attention on injuries might
undermine the image of kite buggying and lead to legal
restrictions on the sport. Nevertheless, a good sample
was obtained by approaching the sport from within [8];
the fact that the promoter of the study was himself a
kiter made it possible to present the questionnaire directly to participants and via communication channels reserved for kite buggy sportsmen and sportswomen.
