Its been too long since I put a wing in the air myself....
Ashamed to be called a kiter. That is soon to change though. Almost in the final JIBE count down!!

Hey has anyone reached to that fellow named Nills (spelling)? He was the guy that came up from Florida last year as a first time JIBE attendee. Ate with all of us that night at the We Pub. He had the lime green PL buggy if you remember. He's not on the forum so was wondering if anyone has heard from him?

Jim you are going to love that VTT buddy :evil::evil::evil::evil::cool::thumbup:

Have not heard from Nills. I'll search my email archives and reach out if able.

We have some first timers expected from Louisiana and Texas in addition to U.K. as well as some new locals.

Joan and I were out to Jekyll today and had a great day climatizing two new pups to the beach. Lumpy west winds so no kites but the seabreazes should be hatching in the next month.

Looking forward to staying on the island for the week of JIBE!

@Jason- that black beauty is looking good- I am trying to decide if I should bring my regular ride or my lazy man mtn bike (1500 watts of electrical goodness- I think the flat road cruising speed at Jekyll would be close to 30 mph without pedaling- might be a bit too much)
Cant wait to get there- wildwood next month then jekylll a couple of weeks later woohoo. Looking forward to hanging with my new roomies:thumbup: since the family wont be making it this year:(

My buggy has been in the trailer apart since WWBB.:(

Bad wind and bad weather has kept most of us here not being able to go flying again.

Pulling it out today and going to put it back together. :D

Some decent wind is starting to move back in the area but the time to use it is a small window of opportunity. But I did get about 20 minutes the other afternoon flying static at the soccer field. Felt goooood to have the power back.

For JIBE this year I'm going to run my bug on barrows instead of big foots. My buggy was designed to run on them for the IBX at Ivanpah. It will sure make it easier to get it up and down the ramp.

Mounting them of Seismic rims with Kenda 4:80 x 4 x 8 rubber, grooved. And I'm putting in tubes will a small amount of slime for insurance. The buggy may be a little lighter, and closer to the ground. This will be a first for me on smaller wheels with this buggy. Should be fun.:P

Gettin excited and gettin ready. Plan to spend the week. Can't wait.:D

I am getting stoked! We have been talking about it nonstop with the girlfriend's family over the weekend I just spent on Tybee. We were packed really light because it was a boating and biking weekend, but we did pack the little 2.2 Snapshot to get some static flying in at the beach in the light winds Sunday. I still got it, in spite of not flying anything since June last year. Now to get my buggy legs back under me with a real kite over my head.

I've buggied on Tybee... My first beach trip with a buggy. The south end is best IMO for buggying, but it is MUCH more crowded than JI.... that was a while back though!

Same here, Jason! I was trying to decide between getting a commercial van and a pickup, but I settled for a pickup again because I couldn't get a clear idea of the vans available as the website doesn't give many options besides the minivans.

I would love to, but I am pretty sure the extra rental cost plus gas would quadruple or more the price to get down there. Why don't you just fly down for a few days! I will pick you up at the airport :)

I noticed the mileage on the vans too, Jason. That was the main reason I ended up staying with the pickup. The Chevys and the Dodges actually get great gas mileage to boot. I don't know what the hell Ford is waiting on. I actually like Ford trucks the best to drive, but man they are dogs on the highway. The Chevy truck I usually rent gets 25-27mpg on the trip down and back.
