Yeah, I can't find the number to call to talk to the guy that makes it May right now. I haven't put a kite up since JIBE. I have other hobbies that are keeping me sane, but my local beach is flooded most of the time there is wind, so I have nowhere to buggy for the past year and a half. The city hasn't put any money into fixing the beach, so I am in even worse shape than the other landlocked guys, because I don't even have a soccer complex or anything like that within walking distance.

JIBE 2017Countdown

Hey Gang.

Getting ready to update the website, but the dates, times and tides have already been updated elswhere here on PKF.

Some News post Hurricane Matthew..

Restaurants Latitude 31 and Rah Bar (same owners) did not make it and are closed. Word on the street/ beach is that JI Club Hotel will take it over. This news is 2 months old and no new updates.

The old Sea Jays in the marina of the river side of JI, which closed and then briefly operated under a new name has also closed. Zachary's Seafood and Steak, which operated on the Island until the old convention center tear-down and now on the mainland, has secured the rights to the property and is building it out anew. Zachry's is popular now on the mainland and I'm sure that they will do a good job. I'm sure there will be music.

Most of JI did well in the storm with mostly vegetation and some temporary infrastructure damage.

Joan and I have booked the Carleton Gritz house again and are looking forward, along with the doggies.

In the weeks ahead I'll reach out to the Jekyll Island Authority, catch the latest buzz, and report here as well on the JIBE website.

All the best and happy New Year.
Angus

It's still at Jekyll Island. If Angus moved it elsewhere he'd have to name to something like NAJIBE**.

Seems like too much of a pain.

Just checked out the directions and 32 hours driving might be a little too much for me to come over this years.

we are only 20 hrs drive to get there so not as bad ;)

but at least it's drivable and not the higher costs involved in flying with the buggy gear (and taking less)

I'll be bringing my new love with me (my mandolin) and would love some of y'all who play any instruments to bring 'em with... we can have a JIBE Jam 2017.
