I have a want ad in the classifieds for a neoprene hoody.

I received a U2U yesterday from a person who has 0 (zero) posts, which appears to be very suspicious... It may be wise to see if there are others being solicited by this "member" to make sure it is not a scam... Maybe I am just being paranoid, but I am also a seasoned online shopper that has been defrauded a couple of times.

You are not the only one to have received something from Mr. Vince. I got a U2U from Bruce this morning and he claimed the same kind of deal. I have sent a message to the PKF admin letting them know that this person is scamming.

Do not in any way respond to his email address. He was offering to sell Bruce a r/c land sailor. He hadn't even requested one.

These guys show up all the time.Just add it to the spam file and call it good.
Anyone that wants to be serious about purchasing anything would do a little bit better job of using google translate.

Of course people would do a little more research. This guy has gone a whole different way and using the U2U system to send messages rather than make a posting. Trying to beat the system I guess.

Ha! I got the same this morning and was going to post something but was worried that I would be seen as too harsh!

If you really pay attention to these things you often can find things that just don't sound right.



REAL CLUES:If this was legit he would simply state Item(repeat item you are asking to buy-brand model, size) and what he is selling it for. Why is needed correspondence to get sale price?

Why? He sometimes doesn't know what item sells for because he doesn't own one(paid for one), have interest in one..or sometimes even know what item is! .....So he doesn't know what to ask for it. You suggest price you'll glady pay and he agrees.



Like a 'form letter' these responses often NEVER MENTION THE ITEM....just that they have it and for you to reply. And also-as you see here- they leave out an amount($$).

THis guy is not from Sweden, and likely much closer than you think...

I don't think 'Vince Shirley' is ever a Swedish name..is it..?

Fun Fact: Most Swedes- 80-90%- speak pretty good English as a second language!!

Holy cr@p I just checked my email, and this guy actually did email me in response to something I posted in the wanted section (like 2 months ago) with the exact same email VERBATIM!!!

What a load of horse squeeze

Now I feel left out! I toyed with some guy about a year ago where he thought I was a dealer. He wanted to buy 10 PL folding buggies and 10 XR+ buggies. I gave him a fictitious address in California and used a google number so he had no idea who or where I was. In the end, he gave me 2 credit cards to pay me for the buggies and shipping of several thousand dollars. With the credit card info he gave me, I was able to find the owner of one of the cards, a small private school in Massachussets and the other was a guy in Alpharetta, GA. He got a bit huffy when I told him the guy at the school didn't know anything about kite buggies he ordered to be shipped to Holland. Someone told me the address he wanted the buggies shipped to was a short drive from the Headquarters for PL. It was entertaining for awhile but for some reason he didn't call me back anymore.
