I'm trying to get one also, but they are not being made at the moment. Something about the company that makes the hulls is having problems. So you will have to find one already here somewhere if there is one. I think they are price around 4-5k

its not cheap and Dino is bang on with the price.
over the years there have been different types of boats from teh PL house

I like this one the most, a converted boat mod for the buggy.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o7/ripsessionkites/Misc/b...

also came the Monohull, easier to transport and for the Kayak riders.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o7/ripsessionkites/Misc/3...

now the KiteCat ... locally we have 2 here.
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o7/ripsessionkites/Misc/p...

specs (assembled)
Total length (including hulls) – 4.3m
Width - 2.0m
Height - 0.8m
Weight - 35kg

you can start moving with this thing in about 5 to 8 knots, but youll need a big kite, an Arc in 16 to 18m would be best.

Who wants one? Who's buying the 24m Charger?

Oh yah the video

PS. Marijn from PL just signed up to PKF, so he may have more input to follow.

you know I have been looking into building a PDracer..and I think that if you applied this design to each wheel spot..with the addition of an exagerated keel/dagger board you could build a set of water "wheels"/ aquadynamic pontoons and get going on the water......you could make these the same way you make boats...the stitch and glue method or the chine log attachment method...the only requirement being the abillty to float and the ability to resist side pull........and to make these things would be super cheap..outside of the cost of epoxy resin...nothing more than 1/8 ply and foam.......

just thinking

I know the price looks steep but I would be ok with that.

AJ, if I ever get down there I want a go in that thing!

I looked at the Wind Rider trimarans but they are more money. They could probably work if I could find a good used one.

now that looks cool. I always wanted to try a ride that sits you sideways. I think that will just be a lot more comfortable so you don't have to fight the side pull.

thats a picture of my kitecat on the nwkiteforum
thanks lks!!
i didnt realize that even new kitecats are hard to find
not sure what the hull # is ; i bought it used about 2&a half yrs ago
really impressed with the performance of the cat especially the acceleration
that only a kite can provide as compared w/ a sail
enjoy

Check out this guys kite boat. He uses a seated platform kinda like a buggy seat on top of a trimaran. I met this guy on mysapace when he was in the design phase and now they are in production. You buy the boat and he sells you the kite rig. Last time I talked with him they were using a 100 meter naish water kite for power looks like way to much fun. Some day I would love to have one. Here is a link to his myspace page

he has some vids of it in action on his page

Looks very cool. Wonder if could be accomplished with a whitewater cataraft that has smaller tubes and sits high in the water with little drag. Was thinking about getting a new boat (not for kite) and came accross JacS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s Plastic that makes a smaller tubed pack cat that sits high in the water. He also makes custom pontoons and bet he could easily make an inflatable version of the kite cat (smaller diameter tubes on a wide frame) if someone contacted them.
