Snowblades !!!

I recently bought a pair of Salomon 90 cm snowblades because I figured they would be easier to deal with while setting up and handling a kite, but later I read some comments that they were not very good for off-piste skiing so I was a bit disheartened because I would probably never get the opportunity to snowkite on

groomed trails. Well today we had a few inches of natural snow that was probably close to granular or frozen granular. The wind was not present so I just drove up to the nearest sledding hill, strapped them on and went for a few runs. I had an absolute blast, loved how they carve turns. Anyway looking forward to kiting with them as soon as we get some wind.

Bill -

I'd be interested to see how they work out. We have only an inch or so of the same frozen corn in St. Paul, MN. Just enough to have ruined the perfect ice for kite skating on the lakes.

I haven't used Snowblades for kiting (yet), but I have used them in just about every condition and trail. Granted, I wouldn't recommend 3 feet of powder for someone who isn't a very confident skier, but I have done it several times. They can go anywhere, but you have to know how to change for the conditions.

I use Snowblades all the time. They’re great and easy to handle with a kite.
Powder can be a pain and you have to be careful on ice because the lack of
edge can cause you to be dragged down wind.

But all in all the light feel and quick response of the blades makes me leave my large skis at home.

Just an update; I still haven't kited with them but have had them out at the resort several times. I don't even take my skis or snowboard anymore. I love them in the terrain park and on steep sections, although I don't get too crazy myself I see some guys doing amazing stuff with them on the jumps and rails.
