Sunny Ivanpah 2009
Got here on Friday at noon winds were from the NE and the Landsailors were packing up. At 9 am it is 77 degrees light winds.
I went for a run south of soon to be buggy camp and found a small pocket of crystals. I anyone wants some nice looking crystals let me know and I will
give you directions to the crystal patch.

Its so close and yet still so far away...you have no idea how much it kills being so very close to they Playa and yet not yet able to make it out
there....Waiting to hear the sound of my tires as I pull off the cement onto the dirt....feeling my heart beat quicken because I know in just a few
more moments I will be seeing my buggy family.... you see a white dot off in the distance and as you get closer it starts to take form its the main
tent flapping ever so gently in the morning breeze followed by a steady wind in the afternoon that gives us killer riding till the sun starts to go
down... then off to the main tent for the nightly shot car races (Anyone Up For Racing For Pinks!!! Hey Just A Thought :evil
Cant wait to see you all again so very soon

Just spoke to my Louisiana connection at buggy town. Brad had just came in as he was about to lose his front tire to attrition. Slow start today but
great wind this afternoon. I'll be flying out tomorrow morning so will see you all tomorrow evening.
Looking forward to it! Sorry I missed Greenbird but they do have a killer video mecdave posted the youtube link to. I've shown it to anyone who
comes by. History was made last week at Ivanpah!
I'm there in less than 24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:moon:

GPS Coordinates to the Crystal Patch!!!
Finally found the coordinates to the crystal patch on Ivanpah. I knew I had them written down somewhere. These are from years ago, but should still be
good. So for those looking to score some great crystals, I have quite a few myself, here is the exact coordinates.
35"32'04.72" N
115"24'38.13" W

Thanks for the coordinates bison. I will check it out tomorrow. If anyone wants to join me, come on over to Brad's camp.
Susan and I looked over there a couple of times, but we were looking where the road joins the lake bed. Your coordinates are up the road a little way.
steve.

Could somebody take a picture of the crystals? I was going to look for the patch on Thursday around noon, since the wind was dead, but then the wind
picked up so I was getting ready to fly & bam! the 50 MPH sand storm hit. I packed up the tent & never got out there. We had to pull out
Friday AM.
A BIG thanks to those that helped catch the runaway buggy & get control of my kite.

Several of us went out there, but didn't find much. Bison's coordinates were along one of the roads next to a salt lick and water tower for cattle. We
looked for quite a while and the only find was one small one that Susan found.

After many hours of looking around several roads on the south side of the lake bed I came back with nill. I did find a rock that was mostly clear but
not in the right shape that Terry (crash) had. I guess I would still be looking if I had not had to come home.

Susan ,after you left a group of us went across the lake and let's just say ...we looked for more but nothing.Keep in mind were not to go past the
brush , now that I have gps 35"32'04.72" N
115"24'38.13" W we'll save for next year's safari. Hope you got home safe. They got great footage of you on Playa when we were in room partying and
showing films. I'm going to buy a buggy from Jon then call you for an Npw. I'll fly Toms to get an idea what size first. Aislinn misses the hootch
already. Thank you all for making her feel special and all the gifts she got .she
brought the crystal and shotcar to school ,I can't let the teachers see the shotcar.:bigok:Bison, what was your personal best this year.Winds were
sweet but seen better On Playa in past..My solo was 64.1 and with the little one in tandum before destroying pole hookup was 62.7 mph, without her
working the sail. she was along for the ride.she was alittle pissed I talked her into the roller coaster but didn't mind when I almost lost her on
Playa. All I heard was ,oh oh Oh OH !when I turned around ,she was in the air so I brought back in to camp to film us instead of pushing it. I watched
you struggle tuesday morning and wensday everyone had 1 to 2 m except the dutch and few others. I hope you all returned beat up like I did . Thank you
all for helping me with my Phantom 15m arc as now I can use at home with confidence. I have alot of thank yous and stories to share but still in a fog
after getting home .everyone I spoke with has this little stomic bug .... did anybody else get sick ? I didn't but even the pilot was changed in Ricks
flight feeling ill. well time to dump everyones pics & video on Aislinns laptop to my PC.Thank you all for giving her the camera cards and
videos. She's also doing a project for school on event and records that were broke.
