Key West

Just spent a week and a half in Key West. Learned how to ride a twin-tip in just half a day. Was able to stay up wind the second half of the day. Great guys/gals down there. They really like the CO2 20M kite for the light days. At 150 lbs, I have been told I don't ever need that much kite. I bought the 17M Takoon Swoop II. Good idea? Bad idea? I was told it would give me just as early of planing and yet would carry me through the bigger gusts/heavier days.

Interested in keeping the forum going.

Seems way big for a beginner. I have kitesurfed for 2 years and get most use from my 11M Naish going larger only in light wind. Honestly, I know nothing of Takoon, but I recomend you start small and get bigger with experience.

Just an opinion,

I appreciate your feedback. My beginner kite is a Naish, AR-5 15.5. It isn't enough around here. We get lots of days with 8-12 knots. I spent the day out today on the 15.5 with winds 12-18 knots. It was a good day.
