Line combos
Along with my Takoon kite, I purchased a second bar with all of the safety features. I really impressed with the Takoon releases, but the lines seem
really flimsy. On my old bar, I put new lines on it just a few months ago. They're really stiff and wirey (top brand, can't remember the
name). The Takoon lines are light and and easily bent in half. Are these cheap? Any advice? Does it really matter?

You are most likely referring to Powerline. It's the best line for kitesurfing. I have some #600 sets if you are interested. You can use the
forum's U2U Instant Messenger to contact me personally.

There are many different line manufacturers. Buying from one that has come from the kite industry (rather than Windsurfing/Kitesurfing) is better.
Most important to use a fine braided Spectra free of line buggars and brask test is relative to the size of your kite and the wind you are flying it
in.
I use #600 Powerline for 11M+ and #300 for 9M-.
Hope this helps,

Great - Thanks.
Any idea on the Takoon stuff? I would guess that it falls into the kite-surfing category.

I've never flown Takoon so I can't give a rating. These days there is not much variance between the wings.
I tend to stick with Cabrinha Kites. The quality is high, a logical range of sizes, and well conceived harness and safety gear. Also boards, bindings
etc.

Perhaps you can submit a review of Takoon (in a new post) with some URLs and owner tips. That would be an asset to those who may be considering a
purchase.
