Furman University

I haven't seen anybody in here from upstate SC but if some are passing by, Furman University just west of Greenville has some nice fields.

I called them and was told there are many fields the public can use. So I went by and found a pristine soccer field on top of a hill just across from their main football stadium.

I don’t like flying in places where a lot of people will be watching but I’m going to give this one a try.

It’s perfect for the low wind days with nothing to block the wind except one very small spot. Today there wasn’t hardly anybody around and no one at the field. They would probably frown on scudding on the well kept grass but for a nice easy day of flying, it looks good.

I've been doing college visits myself, and each visit I look for kiting fields within walking distance of the dorms. Is it bad that kiting is going to influence my college choice? :puzzled:

Maybe I'll have to check this place out!
