I haven't flown or known anyone who owns a Titan.
Flysurfer has improved greatly since 04 !
It is the earliest model I would even consider. I would hold out.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

I had a Titan 15.5 for a short while. Doesn't like gusty winds and pretty slow turning (compared to later generation FS's) but pulled like a truck. It was the first generation FS, IIRC, to have jetflaps and decent stability. Wasn't my "cup of tea" so I sold it to a friend a couple weeks after I bought it. He loved it. If you go to the foilzone forums you'll likely find lots of Titan owners (past and present).

we have a 9.5m TITAN... flown for 3 hrs.... its near mint.

i can put it up for sale if someone wants. we were experimenting with a depower Mod for it, but ran out of time with all the speed 1.5 and more.

its super stable and really does pull hard.

Just resurrecting this thread as I flew 2 of these yesterday! a 9.5 and a 12.5. I was talking to a guy about kites and he said he had 2 big kites in his garage for the last 6 years!! so we arranged to meet up and look at them.

As mentiontion above the damn things pull like hell and are so stable overhead you can take your hands off the bar and they will just sit there! They were both pretty slow turning though. The wing tips tuck in a little but it looks like they are supposed to? there is a runner for the bridle line that goes to the tip.

Anyone know anything much about the kite? It was 2004 right?

had the 9.5 titan with the mod for depower , or better depower. anyway powerful for its size , not so fast turning and narrow sweet spot ...for a 9 pretty challenging in hi winds . overflys if out of tune fairly easily. for its age basic raw power thats about it

This statement perfectly describes my Rookie2 6m that was made one year later by FS. POWWWWAH, but no depower!

They do both have a depower strap. The tabs are yellow and blue which does not logically indicate which does what so I'm just working on the principal of let it out for more power & pull it in for depower.

Its pretty interesting messing about with old kites but I don't envy my pal who is going to try and learn to kitesurf on them!

depower was still a mystery when the unit was developed, the mod helped just very ON or ON ON

WARNING serious injury or death may occur, this is not a caution statement. not for a beginner.

When Phree talks in all caps. Listen verrrry carefully. He probably logs more flight hours than all the rest of us combined. He's not guessing.:thumbup:

Yeah thanks for the caution guys, I'm trying to persuade him to get a modern SLE but people don't always have the money - or don't want to spend it.

I did waterstart lessons on my 10m Park on Saturday as a 10 year old foil is about the last thing I would want to try and learn on!
