Mood: Ready for some sand!

Went to SLP (San Luis Pass, TX) yesterday.

The entire area between the poles on the pedestrian area had been graded recently. Instead of being a smooth hard surface, it was about a inch of soft sand over a layer of inch wide or so grooves from the equipment they drag on the sand. Next good rainfall should smooth it back out though and make a great surface again.

They had done something similar down at the regular part of the beach, and piled some of the sand up in the areas that did not have dunes at the entrance. Vehicle traffic had pretty much packed the sand back down there and made for some smooth "roads". Rigged up a tandem hitch for the buggy and was giving rides half the day. Hardpack area at low tide never dried out much, so made for some fun sliding/skidding and good times with either the buggy or ATB.

Really good kiteboarding either in really close or out past the breakers. Now if only I'd ever get it through my head to use SUNSCREEN more often.
