Pulse2 10m

Brief testing in 8knots.... so more to come with better wind.

Construction:

typical Flysurfer = perfectly sewn , high attention to detail in canopy, lines, bar, etc... everything isvery nice. Kite has Thinner profile than previous Pulse1. new bar is nice with elastic bar end keepers. Chicken loop is smaller... if you remove the "half-force-line" then also remove the fiberglass stick inside the DD.

Safety:

not tested, but will probably put FDS on instead of FLS

Flight:

pretty close to same as 10m Pulse1... a bit tighter turning and less bar pressure, also a touch more depower. Zero pre-inflation necessary, just flop it on the ground and afew tugs and up it goes. reverse launch is easy... or just pull 1 line and it flips over at window edge. good power when sheeted in... and can hardly feel the kite when depowered, impressive. kite is easier to "send" into a jump and re-directs promptly, nearly looped it on accident.

it is very close to the Pulse1 and Psycho3 10m sizes... they are hard to compare since they all are so good. gotta go to the GORGE and really test it out.

UPDATE 1

wind 12kn g18kn , 3hr session, COLD ocean

Spleene 134 board.

Mixer set to B -0.5cm C -1.0cm and set on Hard Steering.

Bar pressure is Really LIght compared to p3 or pulse1.... even more in-direct feel when flying. overall very smooth power delivery.

jumps were more LEI like.... more pop and immediate vertical lift....not super floaty like speed2 or psycho3.

relaunch is just like pulse1.

safety is marginal. i was alone so i had to solo land the kite... just pulled the safety to try it... did not like it as much as the FDS, so i'll install one for sure. the kite flapped around and spun like crazy. it did not tangle the lines or anything, but it did have more pull in FLS mode than FDS kites of same size.

Stability is awesome... IMO better than the Pulse1

Thanks for the update pz.

Do you think it has a better lower end/more power than the 10m Pulse 1?

I wish I could try one but the local retailer here just order them when required. He flies LEIs.

it feels like the same low end as the pulse1, but a bit improved stability (if you can believe) and a bit better top end. should be able to push 30knots before i touch the trimmer.

Ok - same here. I think the 8m Pulse feels a lot like the 7m Pulse 1, but the depower is better and it is really stable.

I only had the 13m Pulse and 7m Pulse 1s - never had a chance to fly the 5m and 10m.

hey BUZZ...i know you just want to try one, but i don't really think you need one.... your p3 10m is a darn sweet kite and competes very close to the pu2.

so is the pulse2 way better than the psycho3 or just the marketing hype on all forums make everyone want to have it

has it more depower than the P3 ? high end ? big question

does it moves faster ? not sure
does it turn faster ?

low end ? not sure

relaunch is easier I know this one !!

floaty jumps ? NO way

i'm not going to say better or worse... its just different. if you do unhooked tricks, its easier to unhook. stock safety systems are different, mixer is different, steering is different.... the pu2 is less agressive than the p3.

i think the Pu2 10m feels like a 9m. more top end than the p3 or pu1. compared to the p3 10m, the lower AR of the pu2 will envoke less low end than the p3 and will turn faster. i know the data says the pu2 goes lower, but at this point i disagree. foreward drive speed is probably the same. definately low bar pressure.... the lowest i've felt in a 10m kite.

I think the pulse 2 really resembles these new delta SLE's

just another piece of proof that flysurfer is "ahead of its time" ;)
