Board advice

I am currently using a litewave 158 and am looking to trade for a smaller board, but have no idea what to get. I can stay up wind (just) and pretty much come in where I start off. I want to get something that allows me more control and more fun!!

any suggestions on whats good would be useful and some tips as to what to look for in board.

Cheers

Something to think about before going to a smaller board... if you are (just) holding your sailing line now, you will have to work harder on a smaller board. The reduced plaining surface requires more effort to control your field position and stay on top in less than perfect wind conditions.

If you're ready for the challenge, there are many good boards out there. The Vari Pro from Cabrinha has a wide outline that will help you in variable wind, 3D pads, 6 fins for a strong bite and a trick handle. They're a bit costly, but a board that would serve you a long time.
