Binding for snowboards
snowkiting is now here
but I hate to sit down to strap on my snow binding, and then you're stuck
this subject has maybe already be posted, but I am trying to think a nice solution to quickly pop in & out of your snowboard binding
would be nice like to have similar bindings as a ATB that you just strap around any winter boot, but these bindings dont fit the punch holes already
done in a snowboard, and the strap may need to be longer
another idea is because you want your boots to be very tight in there, is to have a binding that let you rotate your feet a bit (-30 to +30 degrees)
so when you change directions you can move your feet
dont want to buy step-in bindings.
anyone has idea

I don't know if this is qualified to your definition of "step-in" but I recommend K2 Cinch binding.
When I was shopping for bindings for snowkiting last year, there were two on my table, K2 Cinch and Flow. After comparing those two side by side, I
chose K2 Cinch. I went snowkiting twice and even did one downhill riding with it last year and I couldn't be happier with my decision.

PS, I played with stance and found 15 degree is the most comfortable stance for snowkiting. It might vary from person to person but it's a good start
point.

What about the click in kind? Or a pair of flows would work well. If you have a bar you can harness in and let go for a sec and flip the backs up. Or
if you are on packed snow you can sit down and use the ground to click in and then use the kite to lift you. Or just don't launch until you are in.

I ski so don't know snowboard bindings but from what I have heard you are well off to remove the back plate. I understand it sets your knees forward
and tires them out fast. Good for snowboarding but bad for snowkiting. Without backplates you get a better stance for kiting. More like kitesurf
style.

this is what I am thinking to do now, but I wonder if my feet will slip out from the binding when I am riding much heel side (like to go upwind)

As far as being able to ride both directions, set the bindings duck style. +30 degrees both ways then you forward foot is always turned. I don't think
they make rotating bindings.....I might see a niche here for whoever jumps on this one. DIBS!!!!! The other thing is on some carve boards I have seen
ski bindings.... Wonder if that would work. I wonder about a snowboard binding that rotates somehow like you jerk up really hard to unlock it and
rotated then push down again. And maybe a flow stlye back but with a spring loaded thing like a ski when you put weight in the heel it pops up. Or
maybe when the tail is down the binding rotates? Or find some way to mount large wakeboard bindings to your board.

Personally, I can get around the mountain on my snowboard as good as skier with poles. I will strap into my board, and then get the kite moving. I
ride duckfooted and can ride forward and backwards going downhill. I personally hate step-ins alot. Every time I put to much pressure on them when
doing presses on rails and boxes, it pops, and I fall.
I do think that slip on bindings like kiteboards and ATBs would add the board off moves which we have come to know and love. I have my older board I
will try and make something with and see how it works this season. Put a grab handle on it too.
