Jockeys Ridge

I just got home from the Outter Banks NC.
Jockeys Ridge State Park is the larges sand dune on the east coast, if you've never been there its something to see. With a nice 10- 20 mph wind blowing all the time it was an awesome place to fly. Some kids were up on the dunes flyin there beamer and jumpin from one side of the dune to the other.

I was there in March of this year with kites, but no vehicles. I flew my smaller kites and sport kites at the park and it was great, but pretty crowded, even in March.

I also flew on the south side of Oregon Inlet, on the ocean side, about 18 miles south of Jockeys Ridge. Awesome, huge stretch of beach, and quiet. I prefer Long Beach Peninsula in Washington, but this was a mighty close 2nd. Nothing like the sustained coastal winds when you're from Gustsville, Minnesota.
