Good location for wind, waves and lifestyle
Thinking about the possibilty of a move out of state in a few years or buying a second home as an investment. Location would have to be near an ocean
(within 2 miles) that has wind and waves. Lots of outdoor activities and reasonable real estate prices would be a definite plus. And finally, a place
where people are friendly and you can still find that "Main street, U.S.A." feeling (neighbors know each other, good schools, nice clean env, etc.).
I thought about these places:
South Padre Island/Corpus Christi
South Carolina
North Carolina
Georgia
Florida Panhandle
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Oregon does seem like it would meet most of my requirements but the water is just too damn cold...don't know if I could deal with the overcast
skies/rain! Would like to be able to 'trunk it' as much as I can!
Besides, aren't there enough people from CA in OR already

Hands down for what you want... Abreojos, Baja California. Can fly in on light plane or about 9 hours south of San Diego by road. Great fishing,
good windsurfing, good surfing, great diving, expansive beaches though I have not seen anyone kite buggying there.
Oh... and friendly whales just south at San Ignacio Lagoon.
