Still good?

Winds are starting to pick up around here and while I have far more modern depower kites, I have happened to come into possession of these JoJo RM+ fixed bridle kites. Having just now gotten my first buggy, I am wondering if these are still considered a good kite to buggy with or just a cool collectible now.

jojos are good kites... some models had issues getting twisted up in shifty winds, and a more recent kite with a lower A/R (like a flexi blurr or rage) will have less of that problem - that said, iirc the rm+ were some of the better models

i suspect you will not have much fun with the bigger sizes as inland winds are rarely constant at speeds low enough to really use those... but the 2m will be a LOT of fun in 20+ mph

i wouldnt put the 8m up in anything over 10mph (bearing in mind if its 10, its prob gusting to 15)

granted our riding conditions are quite different, but in ~5mph winds on my local beach, an 8m kite was plenty

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I was kinda wondering what sizes I should use here. Knowing me, I would have probably put up the 14m first and hurt myself. Last fixed bridle I ever flew was a 2m Quad-Trac back in the mid 90's. LOL! We're about to start getting into the 20+mph season and that sounds like it should be fun with the smaller kites.

def do not put that 8m (or larger) up in n20mph winds, lol... even the 2m will likely be a handful
