JIBE 2020 dates?

Angus, have you gotten any insight on next year? We put our deposit down on our house again for the same week as this year, but I doubt it will be so early next year.

I looked before we left SSI and the first week of May 2020 had favorable tides.... but I've been wrong before.

Is there any chance for unplanned Jekyll Isle buggying ?
I could get away in winter spring, but the May event is out of the question when you fix air conditioning for a living. Everything in summer has to be a day, or at most, a weekend trip.:dunno:

That would be on the other side of the Mississippi right?
I've heard people live there.

VA beach would be the handiest. I get mixed signals about how legal it is though.
If there's a bunch of ninja buggyers over there, they may be keeping it down low.
Questionable fields are (rightfully) jealously kept.

Sorry no hijack intended. Back to the lucky bastards post.

It's worth the drive Ed, there are a couple of JIBE regulars who come down from Virginia... come on down!

We've already made our plans for next year. We'll be staying on Saint Simons Island for 2 weeks. Hopefully one of them coincides with JIBE.

Hey Gang
What do you think about Monday May 4 with low tide at !2:42 through Friday May 8 with low tide at 4:06 pm??

Second half or the month are similar times in the afternoon and this keeps us farther away from Memorial day/ Mothers day.

I'll book it with JIA if y'all are cool with it.

First full week of May (4th-8th) is my preference!! We have already made our travel plans as they are dependent on my in-laws. We are planning to stay on SSI for a 2 weeks stint next spring and this falls on our second week! So I'll be staying up the road a piece, but on the beach as much as possible! There's great riding on SSI too, IMO!

Thanks Angus

Rental house for next year

I would like to set up a rental house for the event as well. It might entice me and my friends to stay longer. Who is getting a house?

I don't mind sleeping on the floor for awesome kiting. I ended up getting the floor at the hotel this year (JIBE 2019)....I paid for it all and I got the floor while the girls got the beds. Grrrr....

Dates are confirmed May 4-8 2020.

I'm getting ready to book flights as it looks like I'll be coming in from TX.

I'll update the website this week when I fix my FTP feed. But you guys know the drill.

Looking forward to seeing y'all.

Hey
The web site is updated with daily times, tides and sunset data.

I'll continue to tweak it in the near future, correcting some outdated links and info about local lodging on the mainland and such.

I did update the prices for getting on to Jekyll Island, which is now $8/ day, $38 per week and $55/ year.

Fair Winds and Happy Holidays,

Thanks Bobby; Most all of my kite stuff and buggy are in a storage locker in Brunswick. Someone else in our tribe made sure of that.:D I'll fly to JAX and rent an SUV or minivan and likely stay at one of the exit 29 properties near the storage space..

Hooked and Booked. Flying from someplace called Tyler, TX. Arrive Sunday and depart Saturday. Got me a badass minivan. Joan will stay at home in the RV to take care of the furrballs. Next year we will be able to drive the house back to Jekyll and do it proper family style.

We're locked into a property with the extended family (my clan plus the in laws) on Saint Simons... They are staying beach side Mid-april through mid-may and I'll be joining them the last week of April through the first week of May. So though I won't be on JI, I'll be there as much as possible!
