I seen these mentioned in other threads. Rather than divert those, I'll ask here. Are these just wheel barrow tires from a hardware store? Why
would you use them on a buggy? Advantages, disadvantages?
Hey Randy,
These are the ones with a straight tread pattern, just like a wheel barrow tire, and 4 ply.
They are softer and ride softer than my high speed trailer tires which are 6 ply.
They come standard on PL.
Also they don't tear up the field (grass) like mine do when they skid.
My only complaint was that they wear out really fast on gravel.
I had a couple of blow outs where the tire unseated it's bead and went flat.
I was running 20lbs and riding them as hard as I could when it happened.
Never had a problem on grass.
A big plus is that you can mount them yourself with or without a couple of small tire spoons.
The 6 plys need a machine, or skill I don't have.
The cool factor is higher on the trailer tires.
Hard to go back, but the Midi size might look okay.
It's the buggy that's vain, not me.
Flying mostly single skins, with some orphans, the American flag, and a PL buggy. US01
