Surfing during wind lulls at SOBB

Does anybody have any experience surfing off of Sunset Beach? I'm thinking I would bring surf gear (in my case, a couple of wetsuits, a body board, hand paddles, and Churchill fins) should there be some hours without the right sort of wind for buggying while I'm up there for Fall SOBB. By pictures it appears to be a sand bottom area with a shallow slope to the shore into deeper water. Good ingredients for surf if the swell is agreeable.

Even if nobody here is themselves a surfer has anybody seen folks surfing near buggy camp? Just thought it might be a fun way of mixing up the festivities!

I don't surf and have only seen kitesurfers at Sunset. It looks to me like Surfers use a break just south of Seaside.
So the uneducated answer is yes but about 10 miles south?

Cleanline is the local surf shop. They are great folks who could answer all of your questions.

About 18 more miles south is Manzanita. A beautiful sutf bay.

Thanks Morrie! I just sent him a U2U. It doesn't look as if he has posted here since 2015. In the event he doesn't pick up my note I'll circle around with you offline for an email or phone.
