JIBE 2019 - April 29 - May 3

Gang, I swear that there was more to this post. I can be terse but.... (something having to do with posting from an iPhone)
let me re-type...

So the Jekyll Island folks have given us the green light for the dates requested. The rest is just paperwork and I will work on that, along with the
website, this weekend. These dates are earlier than normal, but there will likely be fewer Muggles on the beach.

Low tide is at 11:29 am on Monday, progressing to 2:19 pm on Friday.

Weather is expected to be variable, with darkness appearing sometime after sunset...

JIBE 2019 Permits from JIA (Jekyll Island Authority) are in the bag and official for the dates posted on this thread - April 29 to May 3rd.
The southern limit of travel will no longer officially be the water tower, but instead will be a new sign installed just north of it The sign
specifies that no dogs are allowed beyond that point and yaddah yaddah yaddah. Some of you have seen it. It is still south of the original arbitrary
(and impossible to find) latitude that had caused us to file for a variance in the first place. This is a marker that the JIA staff and beach
patrols recognize, so there will be no more need for 'splaining about the water tower and variances. It costs us but a few yards and if someone does
accidentally wander to the water tower, I'm sure it will not be a big deal.

I will refresh the web page in a day or two after we mount an expeditionary trip to get a fresh photo of the sign, mark the coordinates and update the
map.

More later and thanks again for helping make another successful year!

I told the folks at JIA about MarS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s idea for the water tower and they thought it was riot and had a good laugh. While stopping just
short of approval for that, they did give me to go-ahead for other ideas.
Joan and I are going out tomorrow for some pics so we can edit the maps for now. Next year we will have some beach-side signage.

Better bring your shock absorbers or some extra vertebrae. There's some really bad wash out from the tidal rivers everywhere we want a buggy. Should
be fun to climb out of the troughs but be careful - they're a lot deeper than they look - ask me how I know. You're going to get wet if you want a
ride.

anyone got a twin tip, skim board, boogie board, air mattress, big aunt B cookie...anything - can you hook up a tow line to a buggy and pull someone
along the tidal pool length? that would be a laugh.

Hey Guys... so my big buggy has a completely messed up wheel... I have been fighting with it since we arrived on Saturday and have finally resolved
that there is nothing that I can do while I'm here to make it work. I've tried a bunch of stuff and if I keep up trying to fix it, I'm going to miss
out on buggying.
So I've resolved to just use my small PL buggy. I'm posting to ask if anyone would be willing to let me borrow a buggy to hook to my tandem set up to
in order to give my kids a few rides
I'm going to take a nap now

I hope you got out riding Spencer (and not just because I'm eager for minute by minute updates). Curious what the problem is and why it's tough to
resolve there if you picked up a hub/wheel to swap out. Bearing issue? mounting the tire issue? incompatible sizes? or just totally messed up and
don't want to talk about it.
