Who is on the island? Checking in!

I'm planning to catch a lunch session today. Who else is in? It looks like 12 mph onshore around low tide. Perfect condintions for laying some serious miles down.

I might go to the south water tower access. There will most likely be too many speed bumps in the kite beach area. With low tide at
1:30pm, we will lose the beach before we lose the people.

No room to buggy...?

Okay... I'm curious...

If it's crowded with people this time of year and you could not buggy, why is isn't event held earlier in cooler/off-season.. or is this just for some areas of the island...?....:puzzled:

It's Sunday afternoon and mid 80's. the south 2 miles of the beach will have fewer bodies. JIBE starts tomorrow, a week day, when there will be few people on the beach. We will set up on kite beach and can go either N or S where there will be long stretches of empty. Our riding area is about 3mi. long hard pack like concrete. Tires, even barrows, do not leave grooves. Compared to Nahant and Pine Point, we're riding in shorts and tees. We ride into the tide pools to cool off.

Got here yesterday and been spending time with Family today ... we are in a rental on the main road catty corner to the big Holiday Inn (Artists Alcove)...

Saw Randy at Great Dunes Park today and saw a few kites from afar whilst at the pool at the Days Inn

Older kids now may afford me a little more seat time this year... gonna hit Great Dunes tomorrow after lunch after Angus hits the onshore switch!!!

I'm going to take a nap now

A few of us did find some beach real estate on the north side of the tide marker that was sparsely populated enough to ride buggies and a blokart in very light winds. Nice direction so I could keep moving with my 4.5 m g-kitr ( single skin) which is pretty much straight off the sewing machine. Was probably the least wind I've ever ridden buggy but I'm not complaining. It did pick up a bit later. So I'd say JIBE Day -1 was a success.

The Pirate ship "Imperial" found a huge chunk missing out of one of it's sails.
So.... A refit of 6 new sails is required ($)

I won't be to the pillage till Monday evening. I'll dock the ship near the anarometer pole early on Tuesday morn and unload my booty!

Hoping to see all ye mates and get some seat time on the sand.

Buggy on, you bunch of cut throats, buggy on!
