Excited to come JIBEing!!!- now the Official Count-Down.

Super excited for JIBE this year gang... unfortunately for me kiting has taken a back seat to having lotsa (young) kids, continuous remodeling, work
and bluegrass music. Its been a full year since I have gone out kiting. That being said, I am excited to hit the beach, go fast and see friends!
It can be said that its only weeks away, and we are hitting Saint Simons the week before this year (I will text you Jim!!!)

At the time of this post we are only 45 days away!!!! (If I counted correctly )
I'm going to take a nap now

Hey Gang
It's that time of the year when Joan sees me checking in to PKF more often and says something like "Signal intelligence picking up a lot of background
chatter before a major event, huh?"

Nice to see the usual suspects lining up plus some returning friends that we have missed so much. For Jason, Amanda (and family) or others that
cannot make it this time, at least they know that we have the right gang to keep the fires burning for next time.

As I write this I am watching the morning weather and noting that the usual Bermuda High system id taking up residence off the Carolinas and churning
out the southeast winds that we count on here in the SE Georgia coast. The weather guys on the JAX news channels are routinely talking about the sea
breeze setting up in the afternoon with the resulting thunder boomers.

Davis, glad to hear that the T-shirt concept is coming along; a pirate theme sounds great. Argh!!

Also heard yesterday from a guy in Savannah who is a new rep for a French producer of land-sailors. He will come down with some gear for us to try.
I'll likely meet up with him next week and will keep you posted with pics and web links.

Keep the news flowing and we look forward to seeing all y'all down here!

I picked up some stainless parts yesterday to replace things I had on my buggy that were carbon steel. I found a good deal on stainless threaded rod
if anyone would like to convert to stub axles. I needed 16" but had to buy a meter of it.

OK, the countdown clock says: 16 days. 14 days from now I'll be on the highway :wee:
Vacation time approved; wife approved (I think/hope she's coming); rental apartment approved.
Need to check over the gear that's been collecting dust since October.
I'm super excited to meet and ride with all of you. Is it too early to start packing the car?
Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

Question for y'all:
Barrows or midis? :dunno: (I'd rather not pack both)

Great - thanks.
The same can generally be said about Wildwood, but we spend a lot of time above the high tide line and the midis come in handy there. Barrows it is
then.
Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

I am soooo excited!!!
I started loading the car today. In the process I tried on my harness (which I havent worn in a year) and it just barely fits... lets just say I have
put on a couple (dozen) pounds.

Forecast looks good for week one on Saint Simons... looks like plenty of opportunities to hit the beach rolling.

The in laws will be keeping the kids a couple times through the week so wifey and I are planning an evening or 2 of tandem riding!
I'm going to take a nap now
