Flyiing with your Father?
I sort of took up kiting to avoid a funk after losing my Father and some other close friends. Over the years I have found I really wish I could have
shared this sport with him. I even find myself thinking about him on those long reaches that allow you to think.
I remember seeing a picture of Beamer Bob and 3 generations of Muse enjoying Bob's " muse ". It warmed my heart.
How many of you get to share your passion for kiting with their Father? Even just him coming out to watch?
If you are one of the lucky ones, don't take it for granted.
Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse

flying kept and keeps me from going down the rabbit hole as well
my Dad showed up once at the beach it was my best day ever on a land board...hope to see him down there again in the spring

My Dad and I shared years of sailing together but he passed before
I discovered kites and landyachts. Now I'm trying to get my son involved with
kites. He's an avid ski mountaineer so there is hope. He got a taste
on a trip to the WA coast but we needed more wind.
He's in NZ for a week of work and I hope he gets in a Blokart on a beach there.
Everyone needs obsessions to share with family.
Always on the steep part of the learning curve.

Some of my best memories kiting are with my Dad. I'm currently a teacher, but last year during spring break I got to do a multi-day trip with him up
to Montana where I was picking up a car. Along the way we stopped in Wyoming, Idaho and MT to get some kiting in. So great to be out with him - just
the two of us.
Definitely going to be one of those memories I hold on to for a long time; but also looking forward to developing the same kind of memories with my
boys.

My dad was instrumental in me getting into this. I treasure that we got to share it together. He thought it was the coolest thing and both enjoyed
flying my kites and watching me and the boys fly. I treasure those memories even more now that he is gone.

I think I had told you before how happy I was that you got to share those days.

Yes Blade I remembered you saying that when I saw this post. Mom and dad went to Ivanpah with me one time right after moving there. Conditions were
such that I had a run about 53 mph and the surface was in a dusty form that day. Dad was in total awe of the speed and dust trail behind me. It's yet
another moment I wouldn't take anything for.
