Joan and I are set up at the Gritz Carlton on Lanier and King. Lots of folks on the island and more about to roll in.
Temp is 74 F and climbing with wind NNW but only 4 mph so a seabreeze has a chance. Tide is about to turn... it only gets warmer this week with no
rain predicted.
I'm about to head to the beach at Tortuga Jacks. I have JIBE waivers
As a reminder for anyone interested there is a free concert tonight at 6 pm downtown Brunswick at the park near the marina. Picnics are encouraged
including all. Everages within reason. We'll be there with three small dogs.
See y'all soon

Touchdown on Jekyll Island!!! Yes Angus, when we pulled by Dunes park we noticed the weather vane in a westerly direction. By the time we unpacked on
Brice Lane and walked down to the beach it was a nice easterly onshore breeze. Should be a great week as the temps climb. See y'all at kite fort
tomorrow!! It's time for pizza and beer.

After some great but short runs with the big phanny, I folded up to go to the concert downtown. Errol and Philip were way south with the hardpack
just about gone; hope they made it back.
Great portent of things to come for the week.

Yea we got down to the beach this afternoon at the lowest low tide (2:00) and it was a muddy nasty mess of owl snot central... the tide was so low
that the first 15 feet of water was knee deep Hershey chocolate sauce... so of course all the girls were muddy up to their necks... another hour and a
half later and the tide was back up above the mud and by 3:30 there was a beautiful sea breeze that made me wish there weren't so many people on the
beach... I'm betting it'll be pretty much the same tomorrow!
I work this morning then back to the island after appt at 2:00. Joan will have the waivers, the permits and the launch codes for the sea breaze. She
will be at the staging area in front of Tortuga Jacks. Joan will have a blue and white beach umbrella and will be in a black and white polka-dot swim
suite. She may or may not have a small canine rascal.

Talk about a crystal clear morning. Leaving the island over the causeway bridge I had a rare clear view of the giant submarine pens at kings bay naval
base 20 miles to the south. Severe clear!
Let's hope the island heats up against the forecast modest NNW winds like yesterday.

Looks like the tide will be as low as it was yesterday (if I'm reading the tide chart correctly), so either prepare for muddy kids or go down as the
tide is coming back in... we're planning to set up closer to the sandbar where there was less/no mud.
Great day. Non stop riding for me from 1230 to 500. Did my landsailor when the wind was offshore. Once it went onshore rode the buggy with a 2.5 NPW
21. :D
We took Anna's brother's boat to Cumberland today, but we will be out there tomorrow for some buggy time. I got to fly Sunday, which was a pleasant
surprise. I am looking forward to meeting some of the newcomers out there tomorrow!

You guys getting any good wind over there? I have been debating coming out because my land board is broken at the moment and I can't come out till
later.
Another winner for sure! Got some great wInd and except for a few breaks rode almost nonstop from noon to 5. Wind picked up as the day went on. Went
from 3.75 NPW 21 down to my 2m closed cell foil at the end.
My day was just ok.... spent a while giving my oldest daughter flying lessons on Davis's 1.8m Beamer which was a lot of fun, then gave the girls rides
in the tandem. After wifey took the girls home for dinner I had to spend about an hour untangling the bridles on my 6m P1 then moved upwind a long
ways, traveled back downwind and packed it up for the day.
In a fit of stupid, I left my front end fork and wheel in the parking lot at
kite beach. If you've found it please email tedkite352@gmail.com with your
ransom demands. Thanks!
JIBE 2017 will go down as the year of... the year of....oh damn, forgot what I was going to say
