New to landboarding

Hey there, just announcing my intentions to become a newbie landboarder.

I have:
kites (FB and a depower)
an ATB
pads
a place to learn/practice
strong desire to learn

I lack:
a harness
experience
consistent wind higher than 7mph

Looking forward to more frustration!

I don't think the beach is going to be an option...or maybe I just haven't found the right beach.

Just a quick look on satellite. Is half moon bay an option? Again I have no idea if that's close or available.

Hoping that your list of stuff includes a helmet. Unfortunately, that particular piece of gear can become the most important in an instant. Good luck and have fun! Try and post some video if you can.

Yes, Half Moon Bay is within distance...everything is 60-90 minutes away. For pads, I've got helmet, gloves, wrist guards, elbow pads, chest/back protector, butt pads, knee pads and high-top skate shoes. Could add motorcycle gear on top of all that :-)

You've got some very cool kites. Nearly identical to my quiver when I started out. Only difference is your close to a coast which hopefully will be a big advantage for you. Your going to have a great time once you put it all together. Time, wind, and location. Line those up with that quiver and you will be good.

Get a harness and get friendly with your 13m Venom. Taking the power through a harness to your core is much better than flying unhooked.

Believe it or not the 13m will be small for 7mph winds. The Auto Zenith + smooth power delivery will be a huge advantage. It is real hard to get over the size of arcs just as you are about to launch but when in flight the strong arc shape reduces the projected area dramatically.

Watch that Blade in gusty winds!

I hope you have a good surface to make up for your Janky wind?

It'll probably be a while...holidays coming, storms starting to roll in, I still need a harness and I haven't really flown the 5.6, 6.6 or venom yet. Low wind pretty much every time I have an opportunity. 0-5mph appears to be the norm around here, even at the beach.

I suspect I'll be winding up with a Peak2 or two sooner or later.

Hey, some of us have to work! My next potential opportunity will be Sunday afternoon, but since I also need to prep for holidays and travel...we'll see.
