Bader field update

The sale of Bader Field did not go through and it is available for us to rent. The field is booked Monday October 10 - Wednesday October 12 and is free Thursday October 13th and Friday October 14th. Was thinking that the best solution would be to choose Thursday with Friday being a rain date. I have asked the blokart guys if they would be interested in joining us (would help share the expenses) and should have an answer tomorrow.

The rental is $300 and believe that we will need a pot-a-potty ($100?) also. If some of the blokart guys join in I think the voluntary contribution would be $20 with any surplus going to the barbecue.

So who interested in taking a day trip to the airfield?

Talked with my contact at Atlantic City today and got a verbal green light that our permit will be granted. Do not have anything in writing, but should by the end of the week. Looks like we will get to play on the tarmac on Thursday with a rain date of Friday. The blokart guys were not interested in joining us, so we'll have the airstrip to ourselves. The suggested donation will be $20.

So far I have strong interest from:

Dean "kteguru"
Paul "doublespeed360"
Craig "mainekite2"
Glen "bugymangp"
Dan "buggydanny"
Marc "cheezycheese"
Rich "shehatesmyhobbies"
Scott "flyguy0101"

Weaker interest from:

Howard "hia"
Konrad "kober"

Anyone else want to join in?

just a heads up for those who have not ridden on pavement or super hard surfaces- it is fast and very different than the beach- power slides are harder to break free and I would recommend some extra safety gear like gloves and maybe elbow pads. It can give you one hell of a road rash

Same goes for the kite, no dragging the kite on the hard stuff.

The field trip to Bader field is close. The winds are forecast to be light tomorrow, so we are going to go with the "rain" date of this Friday. Winds are forecast to be North at 10-20 mph then and will work well if we get them. With winds expected to be light tomorrow, having a meeting about the trip around noon at the Shalimar would make sense.

I should be arriving at WBB approximately 7:30pm tomorrow. Probably won't get much done at work tomorrow in anticipation.
