Thursday Sunset Session on SSI, East Beach

Hey guys, anyone local or still around after JIBE, I am planning to get the kids to bed early on Thursday and have a sunset session on East Beach (on Saint Simons Island)... Probably around 8:00 pm.

I went out on East Beach yesterday at low tide and it looked like a big load of awesome for buggying.

Join in if you like.

I've sent out a few U2Us to a couple of you who I know are around with my cell #.

Yep - calendared.

If NW - NE wind, up at Gould's Inlet at the north end of SSI is good.

If SW - SE, the spit off of the Coast Guard Station.

If East - ahhhhh, East. All of the above and in between....

We can even enjoy W winds - you can get far enough from the tree line at low tide to get some clean wind.

Forecast looks to be SSE for Thursday afternoon.

I had an absolutely OUTSTANDING session on East Beach at the Coastguard station this evening. It just worked out that the kids were down and I got out there by 7:00 and rode until the sun was no more. I met John (Local I've met at JIBE before, but pretty sure he didn't remember me)... I saw him briefly Friday afternoon this year and we rode together a little. He had a lot more upwind capability with his Blurr than I and was traveling all the way south as far as what looked like (past) 5th street,... but I stayed on the tip of the coast guard station beach and rode the crap out of that spot. Started out with the 7m and felt overpowered, so switched to the 5.5m. I didn't have a GPS with me, but I had to be hitting almost 30 mph toward the end... I'll try to get it working by Thur.

It was fabulous seeing the deep red sunset through the red an white of my 5.5m NS3... it was quite loverly.

What an awesome session. Jim met me out on East Beach and the wind was perfectly on the shore probably 10 to 12 mph . Two more locals showed up (one guy who was brand new in the sport who's name I forget and a guy named Elijah who grew up on SSI and lives in San Diego here visiting family) and we all rode together. It was pretty awesome.

Another outstanding sunset session today. I am indeed in love with my Nasa Stars... Flew the crap out of the 5.5m until it was almost too dark to see to pack up. JimSSI met me again and was having a blast with his Reactors, as well as John the local I met on Tuesday.... It was a great time!

I was running my GPS and my GoPro... beat my PB!!! Made it up to 28.5 mph... unfortunately, it was too dark to get a good photo of it, so I intended to do so back at the rental, but forgot to turn off my GPS and lost the top speed (driving home) before I could get a photo of it ... I'm sure I got lots of good footage I'll look through once I finish editing the footage I have from November 2015
