And you thought you were a hardwater kiter?

Saw this video originally on the XK Forum (thanks Joel!) and had to bring it above the equator. This is just insane.

Born-Kite LongStar-2 (3.5m, 5.5m, 7.5m, 9.5m, 12.5m)
Born-Kite NasaStar-3 (1.5m, 2.5m, 3.2m, 4.0m)
Born-Kite StreetStar (4.0m)
Born-Kite RaceStar (5.0m, 9.0m)

Peter Lynn Bigfoot+ modified with VTT rail & seat kit (a seriously great performance upgrade), two sets of Sysmic rims (one set with BigFoot slicks for the beach and other set with 6-ply trailer tires for the playa), and BigKidKite's AQR (because it keeps me in my buggy and in my marriage)

Damn, I'd been wondering if that was possible. This winter we've been getting a lot of marginal days where it seems there's too much ice for getting in the water, but it's to thin to ride on top of.

Water: 2013 Edge 7m, Cronix 12m, 2013 Flite 17m
Land: Peak 2 6m & 9m, Speed 4 8m

I have kites for sale!

It looks to me like they are dealing with a lake that froze then they had lots rain. Then freezing conditions again. Trapping a layer of water on top of the original ice layer.

This has happened a few times around here. I always considered the lake un-rideable at that point but .....
