scudding footwear

Footwear for scudding requires ankle support and no grip so boots aint any good. Got any suggestions!! Thought about baseball boots, anyone tried these?, do they give enough ankle support?

I wear boat shoes like Topsiders. The smooth bottoms slip easily on sand or grass.
