**VIDEO** Kiting the Great South Bay Slicks, Long Island, NY

I've been kiteboarding for a few years now (power kiting for a few years more), and I've finally got myself squared away on the water. No jumping yet, but good control, upwind, and even transitions are getting better and better :D

So... here's a video I put together of some good times I had this summer on the great south bay silcks here in Long Island, NY.

I'm on a 14m Griffin Argo kite (2013), and a Spleene Door 159

Winds are light- about 10-15mph

I hope you enjoy it! :D

Boy look at you go... so this is what you've been doing in your absence. It appears the winds were off shore. Aren't you concerned with getting dragged out..? How deep is that water.. ?

Hey Cheezy! Thanks man... Offshore- but not really. Leeward of me are several islands I could land on (or body drag to) if I got into trouble. I'm kiting in 2-4ft of water about as far as you can see; plus, I've got Janet in the boat- so if things really go south she can come get me.

You know me man- Safety zone! That's why it took me so long to learn :D

I'm planning to get out to Long Beach again this season once the bathers clear the beach. Hit me up if you're gonna be in town!

That goes for you too Brandon- I've been watching my old buggy vids from LB and I REALLY need to get out there again this year!

Thanks RedSky- There's tons of islands with miles of slicks here if you have a boat to access them... it's soooo beautiful :D

Thanks PHREE- I appreciate it!

mainkite2- yeah- I love the buggy, but it's a whole other world on the water. The more ways to enjoy the wind the better I say
