LEI bars and lines with foils

I took out my Flysurfer Speed 3 just recently and detached the lines. I then attached the lines to a post and pulled back on the bar to compare lengths. The rear lines are far longer than the front lines, but the kites flies fine. Is this normal? I thought that you can use any evenly distanced 4-line bar system from a LEI kite with a foil, especially a FS. How can I 'tune' the lines on the bar then if the rear lines are meant to be longer? Thanks

you can switch them, FS can fly on anything even handles, just have to chase the tune. usually in all the set ups on lei , FS, arc which work across the board is bar throw and bar length.

the compensation adjuster on the FS trim(the knot above the trim helps alot.

equal length lines, (remember to adjust for ELC things if you use them), depowerline is 40cm i think and decent bar size 55cm +(the bigger the better), and the compensation knot .

fly adjust, fly adjust. try to get sweet spot power stroke at about 2/3 in on the bar , also place the trim at half way so you can tweak in both directions. the bar hole on FS is a slot NOT just a hole , so it makes a difference in bar action esp. for snappy loops ....and its all very tedious.

enjoy!

How are you going to do the safety?

"Flies fine" - they'll fly in all kinds of bad states of tune, but thats hardly "fine". Lines the same length, sort the mixer... There are no shortcuts.

Or send it to fsmodman and get it sorted properly.

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...
