Looks great bud! I need to put my stuff together in a video now. I didn't get much idle footage with my camera other than a few clips in the car driving to and from the event. Unfortunately, the OBE I pulled during those 30mph s**t kicker gusts didn't get captured. All my camera caught was the sound of my foot kicking it and the buggy slowly rolling into the ocean, lol. I want to see if anyone got any good Porch Rocker footage?

thanks for all the comments - just before heading down to JIBE I had watched the Blues brothers again playing Rawhide over and over in that one bar and thought it might work for a video so i kept that in mind collecting shots that could work with the lyrics.

I'm gathering clips from the different driftwood beach and northern island runs

I do have some porch rocker footage but your best ones were just before i got out the camera but there is one decent one in there.

The one thing I noticed from looking at footage from a camera mounted off the back axle is that one of the new bearings was seizing and the sound picked up sounds almost like a hockey card in the spokes as I pick up speed - good thing it didn't melt the hub.....more vids and pics to come later.

Yeah, the Porch Rocker timing is tough to get right. I did a couple amazing ones, but I couldn't quite get the timing right once someone was recording. That is how it usually goes though.

I haven't checked my buggy yet since we got home and packed up. I gave the wheels a good rinse before we left, but I can't be sure that did the trick, since I didn't use any WD-40 or grease. I may be in for the annual bearing replacements again.

the run from the north tip of Jekyll back down

okay here is a video from monday when we had ENE wind and could run the length of the beach and also get up to the northern tip of the island. I made a run north and found i could easily get to driftwood beach. I came back and grabbed the camera and went back and then continued to the northern tip. This video is from that trip back down to base camp.
Erol also did a run up and then later afternoon we were doing a run together but the tide was starting to come in and parts of the north run are narrow and close out fast with the tide just starting to rise. Erol and I turned around when we had to buggy through a few inches of water still a hundred yards from driftwood beach. I have a couple of segments dropped in flipping to video from later that day in the same section of beach to show the difference with the tide starting to come up.
On tuesday the wind was even more NE and Erol and I both rounded the northern tip and made it at least half way along the last strip toward the pier but it was going straight downwind so we didn't want to get trapped going the last few hundred feet to the end of the beach.
This is a long video running about 13 minutes or so - I added a few comments along the way just to make it a little more interesting to watch and in this trip I slowly wove around some driftwood areas so people that haven't stopped by that beach could see what it was like. Here's the video:

I noticed that when I published the video it had an alert that it would be blocked in some countries because of one of the songs used. Fiona's iPad is registered in the UK so it was blocked for her. A friend in Canada (make that 2 friends) said they could view it on laptops but not his iPad - I see it embedded in my post on PKF as well as able to watch it on the iPad and click the direct link. I just hope this one isn't quirky to view - I might have to do it on my vimeo account.

For all those that didn't make it this year, make an effort to attend next year.

Thanks to Augus for his hard work, organization, and relationship with JIA. He makes it all possible.

I know that there are a lot photos to be posted and can't wait to see them all!

Monday, I got 8 x-rays and found that nothing was broken but heavy bruising inside and a bruise on my lung.
SO.... some great pain killers and 2 heat pads for back, shoulder and knee. I'll be up and at 100% soon!

Davis, glad you are OK. I know you were really sore. Get well soon buddy. My finger is officially in the proper healing process. JIBE was very tough for me with the broke finger, but gave it my best.

Great ride Mark! I watched it in hi-def on the big screen with the lights off. Gosh I miss that place so much....

Spencer, I have almost 300 minutes of video lmao. I've got a ton of footage to go through. If you were at JIBE, chances are my gopro was in yout face at least once lol.

Sadly, I came back to have two vehicles needing repair. Been chasing that all week, plus trying to catch up at work. Ugh...
I will get my videos composed as soon as I can. Its killing me. I've got some really great clips. Wanna put a small cookout vid together too.

I had really bad luck with my cameras this year... I'v got really minimal footage from JIBE and some from here on SSI, so I'm going to combine it all in one and do a Golden Isles buggy tour vid, I guess ... I had some really good rides on Saint Simons this year, but very little camera action... I did catch one absolutely awesome OBE though!... don't worry it'll be included :D

Markite-Very cool video was wondering who passed me. I knew I took off a bit to late to make it all the way to the pointy bits of Dystopia Beach (my friend and I renamed Driftwood Beach Dystopia Beach because Planet of the Apes could have been filmed there). It is just a surreal landscape at high tide.
