Nasa Star 2 on handles with Z bridle vid

I've been wanting to try this for a while, so I've rigged up (and tried to explain ! ) the Z bridle setup on some handles and gave it a whirl on the Nasa Star 2. Worked perfectly. No need to keep tension on the brakes and you could use the strop in the normal position if needed. Can't see any reason why this couldn't be used on any Nasa kite..... it quite possibly is, but I've never flown any one else's NPW's. Hope it makes sense!

Good Video John. I've got a z bridle coming, but I didn't understand the principal behind it until now. I'm not sure yet, but I think I'm leaning more towards a bar set up.

I have successfully set-up all my nasa with Z-bridle base on BigE
info. on Kitecrowd & destroy another 2 nasa during setting it .LOL

My NPW21 2m is permanent on Bar & other are on handle .
it works well but I notice it had a tendency to fly backward or maybe it just my set-up .

I am no good at explaining the detail principal , maybe someone could chime in & same time I try find it on kitecrowd , BigE had a good explain on the detail .

ssayre ,
in-case someone not yet chime in to explain detail & the kite is arrive , you have to set-up the Z-bride & eager to fly it .

my 2 cent it worth to note below :
- braking/flag-out cannot activate at all due to slack /too long brake line
-even can active braking there is change that it still can fly
backward /looping on brake line due to not enough Z-bride line clearance .

those 2 are my mistake , it terrifying when I try setting it & cost me 2 nasa kite.

I'm also curious to know how you would destroy a nasa wing. Considering I can plow 'em head first into the ground at speed with impunity and no damage to the kite. My NS2's are bridled with a very high angle of attack so if you add a bit of both brakes during flight, it will stop and can fly backwards. In fact, when static flying, if you get a lull or have the kite parked at the edge of the window, it can start flying backwards. I think this allows it to reverse launch even when rigged as a two line kite and also gives it the huge low end power.

I think the pigtails I'm using are around 6 inches long - that gives more than enough brake travel and should work well with kite killers. On most of my NS2's, I've separated the last two trailing edge bridle lines on each side and put separate pigtails on them as well as the rest of the bridle lines - then I connect both of those pigtails together via another pigtail. That way I can run it as a two line kite (plus the depower line) and only have to dis-connect the one pigtail to separate the two brake bridles for four line flying. (rather than having to separate all 12 bridles each time which is a little fiddly).
