East Canada where are you
Hey everyone, i am new...getting a kite this week...I live in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, and we get a hell of alot of wind. I plan to
snowkite using a snowboard on our rivers, and i will do so with or without instructions....Can anyone point me to internet resources on simple kiting
techniques. And can anyone tell me if a 4.0m sq foil will haul 200lbs with any problems.

I have a contact in HAlifax flying Pegas Kites. I can give you his email if you want, he's happy to help newbies out. Gimme your email and
I'll email you his (don't think he'd want me posting it out on forums )

I am in Woodstock N.B. and am interested in land/snow-ice buggies. Looks like a hell of a lot of fun to me. I am in the planning stages of building a
buggy as I work in the fabricating trade and have alot of tools at my disposal. Maybe meet some of us maritimers sometime.

There is a kite meet in Burligton VT this weekend. Might be a good place to meet people and check out some different gear. I'll be there on Sunday
and I'll have my ice buggy with me. Unless we get some snow, the ice should be glass smooth for the weekend. You can find details here...

There are a lot of us in the Saint John area. Rob Campbell is the guy to talk to, he probably has the most experience out of the bunch.
I have been at for just about a year, kiteboard in the summer, skis in the winter.
If you've never kited before, please wait and go out with someone who knows what they are doing. It can be extremely dangerous without help. Lessons
would be the best. Unfortunately there are none around these parts. I took kiteboarding lessons in Shippigan last summer.
A 4m and a snowboard will be tough, you will need a lot of wind to get going. Skis are much better with smaller kites. Unless it is hardpacked, you
will need the same size kite as if you were on water. At your weight a 12m bow kite would work.
I have a 16 XBow (bow kite) that I use in the summer, and a 6m Flysurfer COOL that I'll be using on the skis.
I'll be out this Tuesday morning around the Renforth wharf area, and probably again on Wed, Thu.
I also have a 2m trainer kite, that I can show you things with.
Cheers
