Venom 1 10m

Oh man, I'm starting to feel bad about constantly asking about different kites! Hopefully someone in the future will be asking the same questions as me and find these helpful too.

I know the venom 1 is an old kite now, getting on for 10 years I think. But I also know they had a really strong fan base.

What do you reckon about them these days ? I'm looking at this one on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peter-Lynn-Venom-10m-kite-bag-and-... I'm currently in negotiations abuot the price. And can get a PL 04 bar and lines off a guy on the forums. All in it will cost about £220 (~330 USD). Which is in my budget. But price isn't my main reason for asking about this kite.

I think wind range wise, it will sit quite nicely with my 11m frenzy, which is good up until about 20mph.

I've said it before, but if you don't know I'm only buggying at the moment, on beaches. Happy cruising around, but starting to get into freestyle / jumping, so I want a kite that is good and safe for cruising around, and wont constantly lift me when I don't want it to. But as I progress I want the boost/ lift/ pop/ float etc etc that you need for jumping.

One of my concerns about the V1 is that it will be quite different to fly compared to my Frenzy, and so it might slow my progress ?

What do you think ?

If you're getting tired of these posts, and simply think I should exercise some patients and wait until a 7m frenzy comes up for sale please say so !! I've been looking for one for quite some time though, and no luck so far. There was one for sale, but it was a 2012, and a lot over my budget.

Cheers,
Tim

hey, had one for years and cult fan base for sure. and used it for water and some atb(did my first unhooked kiteloop jump on land board with it). huge range. really couldn't go on the water til about 25-30knts. quick for its age. may have been the best unit(size)PL put out at the time. on land huge range. not that much depower but typically well behaved.

300 rtf would my limit and it would need to be fresh, not tattered or heavy repairs
