Sabre 2 9.5

Hey,

A sabre 2 9.5 has come up for sale for a good price.

I wouldn't be selling my 11m frenzy to fund this one, I would have the both of them.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the Sabre 2 9.5 in general. From what I know about them they tend to split opinions a bit. And how it would be along side my 11m frenzy ?
What's the max wind range on the kite ? For a ~200lbs buggyer ?

Cheers :)

I would say there would be way too much overlap with your 11m and you'd be better served with a 6-7 or 14m.

Reason I say that is because I have a 6 and 4.5 yeti (probably similar aspect ratio to the Sabre or slightly lower). Thought the 6 would be my high wind kite but since I don't weigh much, it isn't so I drop to the 4.5 and while that extends my range it's not like it doubles it which is why I often consider either selling them both and getting a 7m Montana / Frenzy and a 4m Access combo or selling just the 6m and keeping the 4.5 since I've become more comfortable flying my 10m in higher winds over the years.

My thinking is that you would experience the same. You'll get a little more high end but you won't get a significantly wider flying window like you would if you dropped down a full 3 - 4 meters which is why I'd say, even if its a deal, it just diverts funds which could be used for better purposes to truly extend your window.

Too bad it isn't a 7M Sabre 2, I think you would really be on to something there. I agree with B-Roc that a 9.5 Sabre is pretty close to your 11M Frenzy. I have a 9.5 Sabre 2 and it's a great kite for me but then again I'm 125lbs, so that's getting close to what your 11M is to you at 200lbs. The right kite will come along, good luck!

I think I probably knew that :( Thanks guys, helpful as always.
I'll hold out for a 7m. (I'm very inpatient is all!)
