| To much slack on bar lines.

So yesterday I was trying to fly my 2004 Best Nemesis 14m kite, but i was having an issue it seems the left and right steering lines were slack and the
other 2 lines were taught, Is that how the lines are supposed to be, if not how do i adjust them? I'm using a Naish universal bar. 2004 Best Nemesis 14m ,2014 Naish Ride 12mLitewave Carbonkick 139 board
Naish universal control bar, 2013 uni-con bar 24m lines
 20m lines

Its kind of normal for your back lines to look a little more slack that your frontlines yes but if they look really slack you may need to either
shorten the backlines, lengthen the front lines - or even both. Do not do anything if your kite is flying properly. If its slow to respond to bar
input and hard to relaunch then try the following:
On the Naish Bar you can shorten the coloured back lines at the bar. assuming the line attaches to the pigtail on the bar by the knot at the end then
move both lines closer to the bar by one knot and see if that works. if it doesn't help then move up another knot.

If you run out of knots on your back lines and still no improvement you may have the option to shorten at the kite too (You don't on out of the
factory Naish kites) - I dont know what the back line pigtails look like on the 2004 nemesis. they may have knots in them like the bar pigtails so you
can shorten even further.

If you still have slack backlines (unlikely at this stage!) you can lengthen your frontlines by moving the stopper down on the depower rope which will
effectively shorten the backlines even further by preventing the bar from moving to high up the strop. (be careful because you are reducing your
depower by doing this)

My backlines look pretty slack most of the time too be honest (using uni con bars too) but as long as the kite is flying properly you should not worry
about it

Ok have a go at shortening them as described then. Small changes and check how it flies each time.

before you start its also worth checking the 4 lines are the same length. lines can stretch or may have been replaced by a previous owner if the bar
is preowned.

the uni con bar should work fine with a nemesis. It works with a Kahoona and I don't think Best make separate bars for them. one of my kite buddies
just bought an 8m nemesis though so I could try it with my Naish bar if you still have problems

I suggested that Will get a small trainer and I would help him learn. Sales person he spoke to said he didnt need a trainer just use what has in light
winds. Bad advise. Winds here are to lumpy to train with that size kite. Elliot Tatoo 4.0mPansh Ace 4m

That sales person needs to be taken out and shot. Putting a 14m C kite in the hands of a beginner is like giving a loaded gun to a 2 year old.

He had an unexpected loft that put a scare into him without harm. Will ordered a 2.5m to train with.
Actually he purchased kite only from Ebay and the sales person from a retail sold him bar and lines. And I think a harness also. Bad business either
way.
