Had a blast even if the wind was a bit on the light side at 5-10mph. Just when it would get good, the wind would fall off to nothing. Fly 5 mins, wait
for 10, etc. Still had a blast just being able to enjoy the fresh air. What a great snappy little kite this 1.8 is. Couldn't be happier, and can't
wait to let her sing at OBX next weekend! Notice the helmet even with the 1.8
;-)
Thanks for all the support the last few weeks guys

I love the graphics on that kite!
I decided that if I wear a helmet every time then I don't have a chance of forgetting or misjudging when I really need it.
great flight! and to think some day this will be your high wind kite. I use mine in 30-40 in the buggy and believe it or not it's pretty gentle and
the flexi build quality holds up!

But do upgrade the flying lines (and handles?) if you take the buggy out in high wings.
Believe the stock handles on the smaller Rages are just bent PVC.
When running in higher winds, Flexifoil recommends upgrading to the Flexifoil Xtreme Quad Line Set or another manufacturers line set of similar weight rating.

Until you get your bug, practice flying her with brake input alone. Learn to stall it and have it hover. Stall it more and learn to land it that way.
Also practice holding it static at the edge of the window and reverse launching. You will be glad you have these skills when you get in the buggy.

that's what's great about these kites... great trainers and still stable at the high end! there were a few times last year when I was one of the few
out on the lake bed thanks to this kite :D
Good note on the handles and lines. Looks like you already upgraded fom the pos handles to the regular flexi handles. good move. IF you use the
kite in hiher winds the you will want to change the lines out at the lines that come with the sting are really weak.

Where are you flying at now?
Mostly at a ball field overflow lot right now on the middle peninsula. I go at least once every weekend if I can. I do agree on you saying the smaller
kites are not to be underestimated!! Only took me one time on my HQ 1.8 two line trainer to learn NOT to put your wrist through those cute little
handle straps!!! :roll::tumble::roll::tumble:
Absolutley have to head your way soon before the sunbathers choke the beach out. Thank you for that invite. Heading out to OBX this weekend to
streatch their legs a little better. You have some epic vimeo vids my man
And wolf,hanson, and arkay.
Thanks for the tips on the beefy line-sets. I think the 440/220 are whats on the Rage at the moment. I have been getting better at reverse launching
too. Parking/hovering is a little more stable with my Flows I learned already (IMHO), but I'm gonna work the piss out of that Rage for 3 days this
weekend. :wee:

Had my 1.8m rage out the other day in 20mph+ winds and it pulled the buggy fine, we have had lots of snow so loads of sideways action :D
One thing I would say and it's only my opinion, is to lean back more with the kite rather than let your arms fully extend, once fully extended you
have no more control left and the kite is liable to pull you forward. Leaning back you can "feel" the kites power and as the wind picks-up you'll be
scudding rather than being pulled forward and running with the kite.
