A guy may be selling this on KC, he's asking for what people think its worth. What price range would you say is right for this kit:

Venom 1 16m, and V2 10m. the 16m has no damage and is in good condition. The 10m has a couple of professional repairs that are quite small.
I have only one bar it is the 07 it is in good nick apart from the out plastic on the chicken loop has split. And there is only one bag for them both.

Sold as a pair.

Well ive been after a route into depower for a while, but cause of money i have pretty much accepted that i wouldnt be able to untill i got a job, cause these kites have a few down points i was wondering if they would go cheaply.

Yeah, basicly whatever i buy i want it to be at a bargain price. I dont wanna be offering him something that turns out to be way over what its actually worth, just like you mentioned with your bug.

On a slightly different note, what do you think of these kites in general ? Are they still good kites? i worry that buying older kites the tech may be really outdated, and a bit rubbish. You still see people flying Venoms.
What are their general flying characteristics, and wind range (for a ~14st, primarily buggy a bit of ATBing, at the beach)
Are they good first depower kites?

Hmmm.... I might be interesed in these. I could use them to make a quiver of venoms being I already have a 13m. I could probably even sell my 13m and just have the 10m and 16m and have a good wind range. Shipping might cost a small fortune but it the are cheap and you decide to pass on them elfasa, I might pounce on them.

I wouldn't rule out the Venoms as a first depower kite but they do require a new landing and launch technique. It's easy once you know how I guess.

I think the traditional route into depower would have you looking at an Ozone Access.

The Access will seem more familiar to you if you're coming from a fixed bridled kite and they are excellent in the buggy.

I'd say the Venom is more a landboarders kite where the Access is more buggy friendly.

The Venoms are reputed to have very good gust munching characteristics and therefore a better choice for lumpy inland flying.

The Venoms also need enough wind to inflate the kite.
If you're not sure about depower then you might not feel confident about flying such a huge looking monster of a kite in the wind needed to inflated it.

You shouldn't allow yourself to be intimidated by it's size vs wind speed tho as even the 16m take a fair bit of wind for their size.

The 10m is definitely going to be a high wind kite in the bug.

Depower range is big for both Venoms, much wider than an Access.

Check out the PL Arc wind speed calculator. You should be able to get away with extending the top end wind range if you're in a bug.
