2007 Best Waroo depower strap question

Hiya.
So the last time I took out my 13m Waroo (bought used. Flown by me a handful of times), the center strap seems to slip. I called Best to see about a replacement part and they told me to buy a new kite (f#%*ckers).

Anyway, I tried looping one pull over the other, but it still slips. Does anyone have a suggestion for a fix?

Also, I need to replace the "bridles", but Best obviously isn't supporting their 5 year old kite. Anyone have a suggestion so I don't have to junk a perfectly good kite?

Thanks.

You could always give it to some one with less kites than you.;)

If you decide to keep it, I'd make a clam cleat. The arc faq has a pretty good description on how to convert it.
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/mx5alan/arcs/ARCsetup_FAQ.htm

As for the bridles, just measure them and remake them out of some new rope. 800lb rope should be good. Make sure you use low streach rope, other wise it will fly like a party balloon and a tarp. I learned this the hard way with my NPW.

If you don't like the idea of making your own bridles, contact Susan. She makes killer NPW's, buggy seat, and I think GPS holders. She would more than likely be happy to make you some new bridles.

Arcs - Charger I 8m, 10m, 12m, Venom I 13m - F-Arc 1200, 1600
Single Skin - Born-Kite LongStar2
Fixed Bridles - Pansh Legend 4.5m - Peter Lynn Voltage 3m

Thanks Snake. I'll check out the clam cleat. I'd feel a lot safer knowing that my trim adjustments actually stay adjusted. I was afraid I might have to make my own bridle. Day 1 in 0-5mph the front left bridle snapped, but it looked totally solid on inspecting. Now I'm all gun shy. So should is use dyneema, spectra or something else? Also, where do you guys buy this stuff from?

How is your trim strap attached to your depower line? Are they sewn on or tied on? If they are tied on, take them off, and ship it to me. I've replace plenty of them. Once the webbing gets worn, they will get soft and start to slip.

Hi Van,
I think that is exactly what is happening. I'll take some pics and post them up shortly.

If you can remove it, just ship it to me. It would only cost you about $5 to ship it here and another $5 to ship it back. So for $10, we can get you taken care of.

Wait a minute... Are you just trying to drum up business for when I'm ready to buy a buggy? :)

Two things:

1. If you believe Snake...you would really want to get it to someone local. I can think of one, great guy that would could help you with this idea. (see you this weekend?!?!?)
2. Van rocks. He sold me some new shoes for my buggy. Good guy. Buy from him!

So...want to buy my Premier RC Kite??? Great deal. Everyone needs one. Want mine? Please?

hehe

That box kite Radio propeller ma-jig is pretty cool :). I'm saving up to fill that gap in my traction kite quiver, though. I'll be out there Sunday, so maybe we can take a stab at it then.

If not, I'll totally send it to Van. I keep hearing these glowing reviews about his work.

Haha ... I took pretty much all last year off from building buggies .. man it was nice to take a break .. I'm in no hurry to get back to work. I still have my full time job at Shell.

I have plenty of webbing in different size so I don't mind doing things like helping out PKF members. I buy webbing direct from the factory so it cost me a few pennies for a yard. As long as you pay the shipping I don't mind helping you to fix it up :spin:

Btw .. I have a buggy waiting for you already .. haha
