New recruit to kiteskating

So I built my son a set of kite skates for his 7th birthday. Took him out today & he was a natural. Mind you this is not his first time flying a kite. I built him a buggy out of an old-school tricycle a little over a year ago. He took to the skates far quicker though; and seemed to like it a lot more. Attached are some pics; and a link to a short vid as well.

 That little guy must be pretty good to be running over that surface. Are those lawn mower wheels and do you use the mower axel/bolts?

Thanks for all the positive feedback; I'll have to have him read it all (for inspiration). Those are in fact lawnmower wheels, they were the only inexpensive 8-inch wheels I could find (Amazon under $10.00 + free shipping). I just used standard machine bolts for the axles. All in all, it took me about 45 minutes to put these together. It's a real simple design; 1inch square aluminum tubing for the rail, 2 pieces (per skate) of aluminum angle for mounting the boots, 4 bolts to mount the angles, 2 bolts to mount the boots, 2 bolts for the axles, a few rounds on the drill press & tap & die set & they were ready to go! Eventually I'll replace the wheels with pneumatic tires, but for now the square edge on the wheels is a good thing for balance. Once he's comfortable enough on them to the point that the solid tires are holding him back I'll upgrade. Meanwhile I'll probably post some more pics/vids as he progresses.
