Waiting for the burn

Thought i would give you guys a laugh at my expense. I woke up at 3:30 in the morning in excruciating pain- was moaning and moving in pain so my wife wakes up and first thing out of her mouth- WOW must have been a really good dream. After blowing my cookies:megan: and unable to keep the percoset down went to the ER. 20 minutes later life was better due to the deludan now just waiting I have a 5mm kidney stone that doc said i need to pass-for the final elimination

I feel it, bro! :barf:

Some say drink black cherry juice extract (and maybe add aloe juice) to add additional lubrication and buffering...probably wouldn't hurt. I've tried this when I think I felt a small one trying to pass....I had a biggie or two pass a few decades ago, (had an aborted surgery and everything) - don't wanna go thru that again!

Cant they be broken up with sonic waves? One of my buddies wife gets stones all the time... Like every couple of weeks... She goes in, they basically give her an ultrasound (same procedure) and its breaks up the stone(s) into much smaller pieces... She goes in for like 30 mins, then goes home, and passes a much more standable stone....

Man, I wouldve been on a wild turkey drip from the word go! My drunk a$$ wouldnt be phased by jack s**t at that point lmao

Good luck! Be sure to name your baby!

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

I think I was taking about a lithotripsy..... Maybe... ,hmmm
Edit:

Yep I was right!!

Quote:

Lithotripsy

Lithotripsy is a medical procedure that uses shock waves to break up stones in the kidney, bladder, or ureter (tube that carries urine from your kidneys to your bladder). After the procedure, the tiny pieces of stones pass out of your body in your urine.

Description

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is the most common type of lithotripsy. "Extracorporeal" means outside the body.

You will wear a medical gown and lie on an exam table on top of a soft, water-filled cushion. You will be given a mild sedative or pain medicine before the procedure starts. You will also be given antibiotics before the procedure starts to prevent infection.

High-energy shock waves, also called sound waves, will pass through your body until they hit the kidney stones. You may feel a tapping sensation when this starts. The waves break the stones into tiny pieces. Often, you will be given general anesthesia for the procedure. You will be asleep and pain-free.

The lithotripsy procedure should take about 45 minutes to 1 hour.

A tube may be placed through your bladder or back into your kidney. This tube will drain urine from your kidney until all the small pieces of stone pass out of your body. The tube may be put in place before or after your lithotripsy treatment.

Scott: man id tell him to f right off! Hes not passing it! Too small lol, I can see it now..."it must be 5.25mm to use the lithotripsy, 5mm is simply too smalll to bother with...." Thats half a centimeter! That may not be very big in the grand scale of the universe... But when compared to the opening its being forced out of... Thats a schoolbus "passing" out of a dog house!!!

Good luck man..... Get a new doc

I used to get Gaul stones. Man that hurt when the got backed up and I ended up with an infected Pancrius. They blasted them with untrasound of some sort. But they are way larger though passing through a way larger tube as well.
I think you and Andrew need some buggy time to rattle that baby out:lol: But seriously I feel for you and I hope it passes real soon with no side effects.

I know how you feel....had a kidney stone on night shift at work once and thought I was gonna die. Wasn't so much the kidney, but between the kidney and bladder. Hurt so frickin bad, the worst pain I ever dealt with! Got to urgent care and never thought I would have the hottest woman doctor I've ever seen ask me to drop my pants in front of her. That wouldn't have been a problem, but my wife was standing next to me at that moment so let's just say it was a rather ackward moment:embarrased:

I have had these....3 times!!! In fact I have 2 in my as I write. YOU WILL NEVER FEEL PAIN MORE THAN THESE. Sorry to be so blunt blunt but you probably already know that! Perocet?! forget about it- took 3 and did nothing. Your throwing up from the pain- not the drug.

Had "Lipo" once- it worked. 2nd I passed myself [6mm] 3rd....well.....um..... they went up my Weiner with a laser and played Asteriods!!:shocked2:

Yes, you are knocked out but you wake up and your Johnson feels like it was dipped in acid- everyone enjoying this? Ok.

Lets move on to peeing needles and blood for 4 days. Then its back to the doctors to remove the Stent [bypass drain for the kidney] oy yeah, this is done while you are awake!! Felt like a 12" piece of Spaghetti was pulled out.

I wouldn't wish these on my wordt enemy- seriously. The pain is just off the chart.

For laughs- Youtube Kramer on Seinfield when had them- its funny as hell!

I suggest watching the "Deadwood" episode where Swearingin has to pass a stone. I don't know that it will make you feel any better, but it will make you really glad you are living 150 years later than that.

Update. Have. It passed it yet but I am a wind junky and flew last night when we arrived at Jekyll and again this morning after it finished moving a little more I am still scared for when this "goat head" decides to exit but if it ain't hurting I will be kiting @beach agree nothing hurts more had my first one about ten yrs ago. Nothing can explain the pain of waking up in the middle of the night with pain so bad you feel better when you are throwing up your guts- pleasant distraction. Thanks for all the nice comments will let you know when the burn comes

Dude, that's hard core,... on many levels

A few years from now you'll be saying "... and then there was that time I rode Jekyll with kidney stones..."

just another story to tell your buddies when your sitting around after wrapping up an awesome session at a big get together. It can be filed under the category of glorious triumphs (aka: biggest air, fastest speed, most serious injury, most painful wiener experience whilekiting, etc, etc, etc).

Get these all the time and yeah, no fun at all. In fact, last time I had one and had to be rushed in to the hospital for some Morphine drip, the nurse said last time they saw someone in that much pain, they left with a baby!

My Urologist says (off the record, of course) to drink beer and break that seal! Once it hits the bladder you'll know as the incessant pinching makes it hard to think of anything else.

Still got about 5 of em just waiting in the kidneys to content with and have already passed 4 of them (knock on wood and God willing). All they can say is I am prone to making them and that I just need to drink more water. Hopefully this is only a freak occurance for you so one and done!

Good luck Scott - hang in there and keeeeeeeeeeep drinkin! :duh:
