GoPro in water?
I will be going on a cruise next month and no doubt do some snorkeling.
Should I bring my GoPro along to film this or is it risky / worth it?

Absolutely take the GoPro. It's rated to 100' so no problem at all for snorkeling. Just be aware that the curved lense on the housing will cause
blurring underwater. You can buy a replacement lens for the housing for $40 that'll fix that.

Everything I have seen is that they hold up fine in the water. Make sure to not use the vented back door, buy some of the moisture strips, and get a
"floaty back door".

funny you should bring this up.
just got back from snorkeling at Poipo, in Hawaii. Tomorrow going up to the north shore to tunnel beach.
Use the Gopro for sure. I use 2 now, one with a neck strap that I put around my wrist and I have another on the chest mount harness by gopro. The
chest harness mount is the one I use with the HD and I film the moment I hit the water and the one on my wrist I pick and choose the shots for close
ups. I use the waterproof covers and nothing special about the rest. Have a good time and remember you see things a bit closer due to your mask than
the gopro films. Get as close as possible with the camera for the best shots.
If you use the chest mount harness, wear a shirt or you will end up with a sunburn with the straps still showing months later
And you will be going to?
