Cheap field bag to get started
We all know the PL Pro bag is sheer awesome for hauling our gear to the flying field and storing our gear. But when you are just starting out, that
is a tough $ pill to swallow. That kind of $ is a R2F used kite added to your quiver. I personally would rather drop my limited budget (right now)
on expanding my quiver than a fancy bag to haul it in.
I looked around a bit and stumbled on this bag. I have all of my flying gear in it; 2m & 3.3m busters, 8m pepper2 (all R2f with handles, stakes,
bags) climbers harness, Ozone bar, scuba divers mesh sack full of linesand handles, rain jacket, and I could still stuff my 8yr old in the bag and zip
it shut! BAsed on the 8m pepper2 bag I am betting I could fit a total of 8 of those kites in it with room also for my bar. This is the 42", I have
seen they also make a 48" version.
Nice tough rubberized reinforce bottom, heavy handles and shoulderstrap. Just a great all around 1st field bag to get started hauling all your gear
as a beginner, multiple colors avail.. AND now it is marked down to $25, I paid $30 last week.

Bottom seems to be a bit rubberized, I knew it was big too, but WOW, it is just cavernous! It takes the whole width of my Ford fusion trunk :-p
I have not tried putting my arms thru it like a backpack. The loops look big enough, but not being padded would bit the shoulders I am sure. One
thing I can to is put the handles and big strap all over my shoulder.

yeah i don't know if I'd go that big, but a cheapie contractor bag would be bomber.
i'm buying an arc as my high wind kite(so stoked) and my kites are starting to take up WAY more space than I'm diggin' on.
I'm sure the OGs have kite closets.

Hey Larry,
thanks for the tip. Mine came in over the weekend. Free shipping to my local store. This bag is awesome!! It's so huge it comes with a bag to carry
the bag ( :duh: ) I paid more than double for a similar sized bag from EMS, but this one feels far superior as far as material used, handle
construction, etc... like the pulls on the zippers also. :bigok:
$25 well spent !!

Your welcome Cheese!
I use tht bag it comes in for more gear too!! It is big enough my climbing harness fits inside it. That has done wonders to keep it from being all
knotted up! and my gloves fit in the pockets on the back.:singing: I was just going to take a picture of it today anyway...
Now the bag is holding: spare lines, handles, mis items bag, 2m, 3.3m, 8m+26"bar, Bladrunners 7m pulse in its bag and his NPW5 with room for a few
more kites..

I may need to get one of those for use around home......
Here is what I got for traveling. I can fit up to a 48" axle in it and have delivered a whole buggy including tires to Vegas in it.
My ATB fits but I have to take one set of trucks of as the top of the bag tapers.
It holds quote a bit.... I haven't tried to pack it full yet to see what all I can get into it.....
http://www.tgw.com/customer/category/product.jsp/SUBCATEGORY...
When I bought it I browsed the site and added it to my cart, changed my mind and removed it did some more looking around and then all of a sudden they
popped up a 15% off coupon...... so I bought it.......
Wheels very nicely through airports...... I was not charged an over size fee.... it weighed in at 49.5 pounds when I checked in so there were no
additional weight fees......

Just FYI - the best bags I got were free. If you have any friends into kitesurfing, see if they have any old kites they are going to throw into the
trash. Even if the kites are trash, the bags can be in great shape. You can fit a lot of stuff into those bags. I got mine from a friend ready to
throw it all out.

I picked up this bag recently at a thrift store for $6. It is a taekwondo gear bag. Mine measures 25-10-12". It fits my quiver of (4) flysurfer peak
kites. It has a good sized center section and many pockets on the outside of it. The top is double zippered that is 4" wide and made of heavy mesh
to let moisture out.
It looks like new they sell for $18-40 online. Just sharing for another option.

OVer the years I have acquired the following as discount kite bags:
-A few years ago now I found what I refer to as a hockey bag at an Army/ Navy Surplus which off the top of my head without going to look at it] 24"w
x36" l x24" h in heavy canvas $30 -$50 IIRC. My harness, helmets, parts & tools, and linesets live in there and I can easily add a backpack or
two of tightly rolled kites and zip it up.
-For traveling with static/ stunt/ spar'd kites I have a c. 8" diameter telescoping hard sided "golf" bag that I added locking pins [large cotter pins
and TSA locks] which was about $50.
I have a large soft sided ski bag that I got a SNIAGRAB [a Colorado institution] a few years ago for about the same price [12" x12" x96"]. My big FB
[3 or 4 10m2 & 12m2] live happily in in there.

Foils -2 -12m [mostly PL & Pansh]
