What is the condition of the Playa? We got hammered with rain up here in Southern Utah for the last couple days. Don't want to drive down if it's gonna be closed.

We had lots of rain here in Vegas/Henderson the last few days as well. I'm hoping for the best and heading down Saturday am unless I hear otherwise. I can post on facebook good or bad, but can't get to pkf from the lakebed. Kent and others were going down on Friday so we might get a report tomorrow.

The look of organization is just because G00fball trumped it up with a name and everything. Many of the locals have been talking about going out to Ivanpah on Friday and Saturday. I'm planning on going out on Saturday am for the day. The whole bunch is friendly and helpful, so you would be welcome to join us. The trick is going out on Ivanpah without a permit and not being sure there are folks out there with one that you could join up with. The risk is that recent rains have left it damp and no one has been onsite yet to know current conditions. This should become clear tomorrow.

Lucky 13...your always welcome to come. As beamer bob said you need a permit for the dry lake which is free. If you don't have one you must be there with someone that has one. That being said my friends and I are down there pretty frequently. So feel free to conact us and come hang out. Most of us locals are very friendly and always looking for more people to share the experience with. Reach out to me via email @ wolfpaklv@hotmail.com anytime you are in the area. If I am unavailable to go I can atleast reach out to the locals and see if anyone else will be out there. That goes for anyone that happens to stumble across this post.

Just a heads up, be careful about calling this an event. It is free to have a meetup but if you post it on the web the BLM considers it an event and will charge us a fee to be there.

This surely is not an event, just a meet up of all the locals. Weather is finally cooling off and we're all craving some serious buggy / camping time again! Full moon this weekend too so that is always a plus. Just hope the rain these last couple days hasn't soaked the playa.

Oh...and anyone who would like to join us is always welcome. BYOB!

Correct. No tshirts. No attendee list. Just whoever shows up on their own. And yes, all are welcome if we are able to get out there.

We tried to get a ride in on Eldorado Lake, but got skunked. G00f got a few runs in before i got there, but with the sun going down, it faded away. Great guy, and hope to get to ride next time you're in G00f!

Didn't see anyone near where we were, but there were people camped and set up for longer than just a visit. It shows as Eldorado on the map, and didn't know it went by another name. It's attractive since I can be there in 20 minutes instead of 45 to Ivanpah. Great when you only have 2-3 hours to ride.

I have heard of people buggying at Jean and Roach (on south a bit) but I haven't myself, just recently settling in and enjoying the cooler weather. The one by the solar plant near Boulder City is what I referred to as Eldorado Lake but is also known as "Mud Lake".

That's actually footage of the trade show goof was here to attend. If he says it, and it seems a bit funny, expect that it is something other that the plain truth. Gotta love him though.

Bigbear97e...the dry lake bed between jean and primm called roach dry lake is off limits. The blm will fine you for riding there. The dry lake between jean and vegas is called jean lake and is moderate for wind. However it uually gets dusted out by atv's. Its not worth it though considering ivapah is only about 15 miles from there and protected for wind powered vehicles.
