Anyone from NE Ohio?
I've been flying foils for 2 years and just recently bought an LEI and a board and am super excited to start kite surfing!
Just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there in northeast Ohio that kite boards (I know ONE other person in the area that kites).
I'm from Canton and plan on doing my kite surfing on Erie and hopefully Nimisila Lake in Akron.

I live on the Outer Banks but spent a summer in NE Ohio. There's an active kitesurfing community in the Cleveland area that frequents Edgewater Park,
Mentor Headlands, Ashtabula Harbor and Erie, Pa. Some even kite snowboard in fields or on the frozen lakes if they freeze over. Lake Erie would be
the only place I would kitesurf and of the places I listed I thought Mentor Headlands (during the off season) was probably the best spot (more room
and fewer obstacles than the others). None come close to the Banks, especially for learning. The wind is just too shifty / gusty and water
conditions are less than ideal. I'd avoid all the smaller inland lakes.
Incidentally, you're the second noob from Ohio to ask for advice in less than 2 weeks. Might want to find the other poster's thread and hook up.
Always helps to learn if you have a buddy to learn with.
If you want to get on the fast track to kitesurfing, plan a week on the Banks with Kitty Hawk Sports.

Try asking here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bonc/
It's a messaging board for the boardheads of the north coast (of Ohio). Mainly windsurfers, but they should know some kitesurfers there, and probably
have some in the group too.
Too many kites, boards, and etceteras.
