Hiram, Maine

Im going up to Hiram Maine soon and was wondering if anyone was in that area to fly with. If not, Does anyone know a good area? I went on Google Earth and saw one huge field down the road from where I'm staying. Other than that I haven't seen anything. Thanks

How soon is soon? You will be within striking distance of our kiting beach, uinfortunately
there are way too many people on the beach at this time. Google up Pine Point and you can see it. As far as inland sites go, we usually wait for the lakes to freeze at which time Sebago and Long lakes are the prime targets. I haven't found a reliable inland site, so if that field pans out give me a shout and I can meet up with you. After the middle of September the beach will be usable on a south wind.

If you come up, don't forget your beach ride. If the conditions aren't good on the lakes
the beach is still usable if the wind is from the south. We look at the yahoo groups IceReports or maineicesailors for the local conditions on the lakes in Maine and the Northeast. For wind prediction google up SailFlow fairly accurate in this area. The season begins soon and while I hate to say goodbye to summer, LET THE BUGGY AND SNOWKITING SEASON BEGIN !
