Home brew roller skis

Had a very old pair of snow skis destined for the junk yard, so I figured I would chop them up and see what I could make. This is what I came up with. Haven't had a chance to try them yet since I just finished building them. Think they will work? Probably anything but nimble, but I'm going to have fun finding out :wee:

That should be fun.

Tried coyotes yet? They are great. I have an extra pair of 9 or 10s if you want to try them some time.

They look like what I wanted from the Trailskates :D should work good! Make sure you take video

I got size 12 feet too, sometimes size 13 depending on the company or alignment of the planets ... size 12 Coyotes fit good :)

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

That's a cool idea. I've got a bunch of old skis sitting around that I could remount to my current boot sizes or chop up as you did.

What did you use for the rails and what are the bindings mounted too?

Thanks guys, I had pretty limited resources as far as shop tools go. Had to free hand alot of the work since I don't own a drill press or cut off saw. Not perfect by any means, but they may suffice untill I can get some powerslides like Spartan has.

B-Roc: I borrowed a metal chop saw and cut off the skis in front and back of the bindings leaving that center section with the bindings, completely intact. Threw the rest away. Used some one inch wide steel flat bar stock to make the side rails. Drilled 1/4 inch holes thru the sides to attach the rails. I used 8 inch ATB wheels. Bearings on these are 12mm inside diameter. Finding a metric drill bit in america is nearly impossible, so I just used 15/32" which was close enough. Metric hardware for the wheel axles wasn't nearly as hard to find but will be more expensive. If you want more specifics, just U2U me and I'll get back to ya.
